VGA2USB driver hang on PC's/laptops with mobile CPU/chipset

On certain PC platforms with mobile chipsets (often found in laptops and ultra-small form factor PC's/mini PC's) you may run into issues with VGA2USB VGA capture devices.

The symptoms are that slide capture suddenly stops (no new slides are captured) and when you try to shutdown the PC, you will run into a Blue Screen crash mentioning a USB driver error.

The cause is a VGA2USB driver hang. The issue is probably caused by power saving measures on the PC in combination with certain USB hubs on the motherboard and a driver not handling power changes adequately.

We have found that connection the VGA2USB device to an ExpressCard USB device like the Startech USB3.0 instead of the internal USB port, solves the problem.
