Publish menu

The Publish menu is used to configure the connection with the Presentations 2Go Videoserver and publishing.

This tab configures the publication settings with a Presentations 2Go Videoserver.

  • Give your encoder a convenient name. This name is also published on the Presentations 2Go Video server website.
  • Click configure
  • Select either the Presentations 2Go videoserver address or the Encoder Service Address (legacy videoservers).
  • Continue with Next
  • If the settings are not correct or the connection is not allowed you will see a red cross.
  • Otherwise continue with finish.
  • Commit your settings with

Offline mode

The encoder checks for updates and metadata settings each time you start the application. In case you have a very unstable internet this can cause a significant delay when starting the application. Check the Offline mode to prevent Presentations 2Go encoder to connect to the internet.

Show advanced

You can also configure each field yourself.

Encoder Name(*)

The encoder name is used in the publication path of the recordings (URL). This will also be the name of the live publishing point by default.

Remote control Port & Password

These settings are only used to remote control the application using the Encoder API (e.g. AMX / CRESTON integration).

Encoder Listen Port

The Encoder Listen Port is used for remote control of the encoder. Scheduling and Creston/AMX integration use this port.

Encoder Service Address & Port(*)

Usually the service address for publishing will be the same as the server address. The default port used is 443.

Server Address

The DNS name of your Presentations 2Go Videoserver. You do not need to enter the protocol (http://).

Communication Buffer Size

The communication buffer size determines the block size during publishing. Low values will give better results on slow connections.

Tagging Service URL

This service enables the automatic creation of the tagging Session ID.

Streaming Server Address

The DNS name of your Presentations 2Go streaming server. You do not need to enter the protocol (mms://)

Live Recording Publishing Point

The name of your Live TV channel in the Presentations 2Go Videoserver, this is usually the same as the encoder name.

Broadcast Method

The method to broadcast Live. Using Push, you can stream across firewalls. However, an interrupted live stream is not automatically recovered at the client side. When using Pull, the encoder device needs to be in the same network (IP range) as the Presentations 2Go Videoserver. The server needs to be able to connect to the encoder device.

Username / Password

Only used when the streaming server requires authentication for live streaming.

Test connection

You can test the settings to your Presentations 2Go Videoserver before updating.

To commit your changes, you need to click the Update button.

On this tab you can see the status of your recordings. If Publish when finished is selected under General | Project Info (see 4.1.1) and the server settings under Publish |server (see 4.4.1) are set correctly, recordings will be published automatically to the Presentations 2Go Videoserver. You can however also publish recordings manually.
